Harold Matthews

Harold Matthews, 82 of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the University Of Maryland Center, Baltimore, MD.

Born in Fawn Township, PA, on September 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Ocie and the late Olive Matthews.

He proudly served in the U.S. Airforce.

He was employed as a millwright and carpenter for the Union.

Harold was a member of the Gateway Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog. He enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, building houses, shuffle board, and metal detecting. “His most important goal in life was to serve the Lord”.

Survived by 2 daughters: Donna Matthews and Robin Matthews of Port Deposit, MD and her daughter, Holly; and son: Brian Matthews and his wife, Sharon and their children, Hanna, Jeremiah and Josiah; 3 sisters: Lillie Fix, Elsie Joines and Barbara Ayres, and 3 brothers: Joe, Martin and Norman Lloyd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 brothers; Hugh and Kenny Lloyd.

Funeral service conducted by Pastor David Landers will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Gateway Baptist Church, 58 Foxy Court, Rising Sun. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the church.

Interment will follow services at West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
