Harold Clifford Karschner, Sr.

Harold Clifford "Casey" Karschner, Sr. 85, of North East, MD, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at home with his family by his side. Born in Lewistown, PA, on March 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Allison Levi and the late Catherine Rebecca Kreider Karschner. He was the husband of the late Emma Rebecca Karschner. Casey enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and anyone who knew him well, regarded him as an outgoing person who liked to have fun. He liked playing cards, woodworking, hunting, gardening and being outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his extended family at Billie's Chuck Wagon where he often harassed the waitresses and staff. He was a Superviser of Motor Pool Operations, at Aberdeen Proving Grounds and Bainbridge. Mr. Karschner was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, North East, MD. Survivors include two daughters: Sandra Gail Turtzer of Charleroi, PA, Mary Eileen Kraft of Port Deposit, MD and one son: Timothy L. Karschner of North East, MD; two sisters: Orpha "Sally" Anderson, Lorna "Queen" Smith and two brothers: Harvey "Ted" Karschner, Norman "Buck" Karschner. Mr. Karschner is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harold C. Karschner, Jr., and also 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call Friday evening, December 22, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM or one hour prior to the service Saturday. Rev. Dan Walker, Galestown United Methodist Church, Federalsburg, MD will officiate. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, North East, MD.
