Harlene Elaine Shahan, 62, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born on April 1, 1964, in Maryland, Harlene was the daughter of Esther Rose and William Frank Hudson. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose life was uniquely her own, full of personality, simple joys, and an appreciation for the beauty found in everyday moments.

Harlene had a special fondness for butterflies, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, music, the peaceful beauty of nature, and her loyal fur babies, Sheppy and Drama. She enjoyed being outdoors, listening to the songs she loved, and simply taking life as it came. She had a spirit all her own, and those who knew her will remember her for the genuine way she experienced the world and the warmth she brought to the lives around her.

For many years, Harlene worked as a custodian with Chimes, Inc. of Columbia, Maryland. She took pride in her work and, through the people she met and the relationships she formed, became a familiar and caring presence to many. Her kindness, individuality, and memorable personality will not soon be forgotten.

Above all, Harlene cherished her family. Her children survive her, Chris Guyer, Sarah Malbran, and Heather Guyer; her beloved grandson, Leon Malbran; her brothers, Greg Hudson and Matt Hudson; her stepbrother, James Good and his partner, Heather Franklin; and many other family members and dear friends who will carry her memory with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Esther Rose and William Frank Hudson.

A Memorial Service celebrating Harlene’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland 21901. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Harlene leaves behind more than memories; she leaves a part of herself in the people she loved, the moments she shared, and the lives she touched along the way. Her laughter, her spirit, and the things that made her uniquely Harlene will remain in the hearts of her children, grandson, family, and friends. May she now find the peace she deserves, and may the love she gave so freely continue to surround those who will miss her most.
