Greever Witten Mitchem

Greever Witten Mitchem, 80 of Elkton, MD, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Bluefield, VA, on June 2, 1931, he was the son of the late John Tate and the late Barbara Nipper Mitchem. Mr. Mitchem owned and operated a Janitorial Service before his retirement. Greever is survived by his wife of 56 years: Dorothy O. Mitchem, 6 daughters: Barbara Hickman, Hazel Lutz, Peggy Hamilton, Mary Sue Jarvis, Elizabeth Rhoades, Linda Cline and 1 son: Walter Mitchem; 3 sisters: Gladys McCormick, Sadie Sluss, Helen Odham and a brother: John P. Mitchem; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Lee Mitchem, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD., where there will be a viewing from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
