Gloria Oliva Savage

Gloria Oliva Savage, 78 of Charlestown, MD, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 in the Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre De Grace, MD. Born in Piney Neck near Rock Hall, MD, on February 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James Leroy and the late Harriett Higgins Elburn. Mrs. Savage married Frank P. Savage, September 3, 1950 at Rock Hall, Maryland. Mrs. Savage was a foster mother for over 75 children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, time with her family, caring for others, and singing old country and gospel songs. Gloria attended Skinners Neck Elementary School, Rock Hall Seventh Day Adventist School, and graduated from Rock Hall High School. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Savage was a member of the Blythedale Seventh Day Adventist Church and Rock Hall Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survived by her husband, Frank P. Savage; one daughter, Valerie McMullen of Colora, MD and one son, Frank L. Savage of North East, MD. One sister; Phyllis Elburn Dierker of Rock Hall, MD. Aunt, Pearl Higgins Jones of Charlestown, MD; Late Daughter, Wendy Savage Love-Morey, who died May 27, 2001; Late Brother, Jackie Elburn. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
