Gertrude Catherine Voigt

Gertrude Catherine Hector Voigt, 84 of North East, MD, formerly of Nutley, NJ and Baldwin, NY died Monday, December 20, 2010 at home surrounded by family. Born in South Orange, NJ, on April 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Peter C. Hector and the late Catherine Hertling Hector. Mrs. Voigt was the loving wife of Frederick W. Voigt of North East, MD. Mrs. Voigt was a devout Roman Catholic who said a rosary daily and attended St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church. Along with being a devoted mother, she enjoyed sewing, needlework and her travels with family to Aruba, Florida, the Adirondacks and Maine. In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her children: Patricia M. Markley of North East, MD and one son: Peter F. Voigt of Pembroke Pines, FL; a sister: Genevieve Vislocky of Waitsfield, VT; and one grandson: Zachary Voigt of Miramar, FL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
