Gertrude Thelma (Vanders) Gibeck

Gertrude Thelma (Vanders) Gibeck, 100 of North East, MD, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.

Born in Darby, PA, on October 25, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Philip Joseph and Martha G. (O'Connor) Vanders.

Mrs. Gibeck was a member of St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed family gatherings, walking, gardening, baking and reading.

She was a wonderful homemaker and had worked at Elk Neck State Park.

Survived by two sons: Larry W. Gibeck (Linda) and Daniel A. Gibeck (Barbara) both of North East, MD; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband: William J. Gibeck, who passed in 1977.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD. A visitation for family and friends will be one hour before the service at the church.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church or Amedisys Foundation, both in care of Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD  21901.
