Gerald Franklin Buchanan Sr., a devoted father, loving grandfather, and proud U.S. Army Veteran, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on February 19, 1948, in West Virginia, Gerald spent his later years in North East, Maryland, where he created a home filled with love and family memories.
Gerald served his country honorably in the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of courage and sacrifice that defines our nation’s heroes. He carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life, instilling these principles in his beloved children and grandchildren.
Gerald is survived by his cherished daughters, Julia Jackson and Aria Buchanan; his son's, Jeremy Jenkins, Andrew Durkee and Matthew Durkee; his brother, Jerry Buchanan; his sister's, Pearle Mann and Merle Gilbert; and several adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and devotion will continue to thrive through the lives he touched.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Frank Buchanan; his mother, Hazel Buchanan; and his son, Gerald Buchanan Jr "Bo".
