Georgia Anne Nunley

Georgia Anne Nunley, 70 of North East, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on August 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robert George Fike and the late Anna Laura (McDowell) Fike Thompson.  She was the wife of the late Harry Dean Nunley who passed on June 6, 2010.

Georgia retired from Verizon where she worked as a lineman.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #6027, North East, MD and a celebrity at Hollywood Casino, Perryville, MD.

She is survived by 4 sons: Jeff D.  and John W. Nunley both of North East, MD, James L. and Archie L. Nunley  both of Elkton, MD; two sisters: Janet Louise of Newark, DE, Susan Shotenberger of NC and one brother: Brian Thompson, Sr. of Newark, DE; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Georgia was also preceded in death by her sister: Mary Anne Fike Barger, and her infant sister: Kathleen Fike.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
