George E. Tyson, 74 of Port Deposit, MD, died suddenly Monday, April 8, 2013 at University of Maryland Shock Trauma, Baltimore, MD.

Born in Port Deposit, MD, on November 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Harold Edward and the late Esther Ann (Astle) Tyson.

Before his retirement, Mr. Tyson was a Milk Inspector for Dairy Farmers of America.  He was a lifelong farmer and always enjoyed it very much.

He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Port Deposit, MD.

Survivors include his loving wife: Patricia A. Tyson of Port Deposit, MD; his 3 children: Drs. Daryl L. Tyson (Valerie) of Prince Georges, VA, Dr. Dean A. Tyson (Michael) of Easton, MD and Laura L. Jones (Eric) of Mt. Juliet, TN; 1 stepdaughter: Georgia Thomas (Nick) of Essex, MD; a sister: Naomi Gross of Lewes, DE; and his 2 grandchildren: Justin and Claire Tyson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Charlotte Wood Tyson in 2002.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD and Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 1811 Hopewell Road, Port Deposit, MD prior to services.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Jay Bunting will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hopewell United Methodist Church.
