George Edward Smith

George Edward Smith, 66 of North East, MD, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 in the Union Hospital Of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Pennsylvania, on March 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Chalmer W. and the late Dorothy Pearl Miller Smith. He was the husband of the late Carol Jane Green Smith who died on April 21, 2000. Mr. Smith was a retired carpenter from Bainbridge and Aberdeen Proving Ground for 29 years. Most recently he was employed at Wal-Mart, North East, MD. He enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include: one son: Christopher G. Smith of North East, MD; one daughter Christina C. Smith of North East, MD; five sisters: Judy Smith of North East, MD, Jane Raber and her husband Tom of Belair, MD, Dottie Forthman and her husband Richard of Belair, MD, Joan Alexander and her husband Elmer of Tampa, FL, Janet Gray and her husband Brian of North East, MD and one brother: Bill Smith and his wife Myrna of Aurora, CO; one step sister: June Roesch of Altoona, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
