George Albert “Jay” Pedrick, Jr., 97 of Elkton, MD, formerly of New Castle and Wilmington, DE died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton, MD.
Born in New Castle, DE, on April 10, 1915, he was the son of the late George A. Pedrick, Sr. and the late Beulah (Crawford) Pedrick. He was the husband of the late Helen Garyantes Pedrick.
He served his country in the Army during World War II in the 9th Infantry Division in the European and North African theaters, attaining the rank of Captain.
Mr. Pedrick was an Insurance Agent for Prudential Insurance, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church, New Castle, DE, where he served on the Vestry. For many years he organized the bridge tournaments at the Elks Lodge # 307 in Wilmington. He also enjoyed dancing, traveling and was known for his great sense of humor.
Survivors include his loving children: George A. Pedrick, III of Elkton, MD, Diane Pedrick Johnson of Norfolk, VA and David R. Pedrick of Elkton, MD; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Henry (Chick) Pedrick and Roger Pedrick.

Memorial services, conducted by Father Samuel Hartman will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM.
Interment will be Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:30 AM in Glebe Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to Seasons Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
