George “Yorgi” Theodore Lipsky passed peacefully at home on June 15, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Minersville, Pennsylvania, George was a longtime resident of Cecil County, Maryland, where he spent most of his life and became a familiar face in the community.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margaret Lipsky. Together they raised their daughter, Kimberly Ann Mangione, and built a close-knit family that brought them great pride.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lipsky; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Mangione and her husband, Nicholas Mangione; his granddaughters, Amanda Mangione, Ashleigh Steen and her husband, Brian Steen, and Rachel Mangione and her partner, Joshua Tran. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Madison Wilson, Jaxon Steen, and Saige Steen; and his sisters, Yvonne Struzinsky and Joan Raczka. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Lipsky, and his sister, Mary Strenkoski.

George worked for many years as a maintenance mechanic at Cytec, where he was known for his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic. He enjoyed taking walks around town with his faithful dog, Cookie, trying his luck with the lottery, and spending time with friends at the VFW. Whether out for a walk or catching up with friends, George appreciated the simple routines and familiar faces that were part of everyday life. George will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his hardworking nature, and the many memories he shared with those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private family service will be held.
