George Franklin Jones, Sr.

George Franklin Jones, Sr., 77 of Rising Sun, MD, died Friday, November 7, 2008 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born on November 4, 1931, he was the son of the late Earl Norman and the late Cremella Hammond. He was the husband of 55 years of the late Marie Inez Barbaria Jones who died on July 10, 2008. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed working on cars and gadgets, and watching all of his children in the yard. Survivors include his children: Clarice Nesbit of Newport, DE, George F. Jones, Jr. of Oxford, PA, Keith A. Jones of Debary, FL, Roderick R. Jones of Aurora, CO, Jason V. Jones, Sr. of Rising Sun, MD, Jerry J. Jones, Sr. of North East, MD and Patricia M. Hall of Newark, DE; five brothers: Ira Jones of Aberdeen, MD, Paul Hammond of Elkton, MD, William Hammond of Elkton, MD, Leonard Jones of Elkton, MD, and Anthony Hammond of North East, MD; 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and multiple great-great grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD. Rev. Kenneth Stewart will officiate. Interment will be private.
