George Barry Hendrickson Jr, 52, of Elkton, Maryland, embarked on his eternal journey on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Christiana Care Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on August 30, 1973.He was a devoted plumbing mechanic for over 30 yrs. He worked for ,Hendrickson Plumbing, Schultz Plumbing, and Sobieski Plumbing, inspiring countless lives through his diligent work.
For over 24 years, George selflessly coached for the Cherry Hill football organization, and was also part of the Sting (winter league program) and Elkton Christian Academy, giving his time to the community, coaching, and supporting parks and recreation, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched. Apart from coaching football, he also gave many years of his life helping coach Elkton little league Baseball, shaping the minds and hearts of future generations. Beyond coaching, he cherished fishing, camping, barbecuing, grilling, and taking cruises, finding solace and peace in the beauty of nature. A sports enthusiast, he loved watching the Florida State Seminoles and the Eagles, inspiring his loved ones with his unwavering passion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna (Maccherone) Hendrickson, and three sons:Anthony T Hendrickson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joseph R Hendrickson of Elkton, Maryland, and Ryan B Hendrickson (Aleah) of Elkton, Maryland. He was also blessed with a granddaughter, Princess Sophia Rose (as he lovingly called her) Hendrickson, and a soon-to-arrive granddaughter, Bliss Meadow Hendrickson, who will continue his legacy of love and kindness. His loving mother, Cathie (Hickman) Hendrickson, stepfather Beecher Rasnake of Elkton, Maryland, and beloved sister, Shawn Hendrickson of Elkton, Maryland, also mourn his passing, celebrating his life and the countless memories they shared. Additionally, he leaves behind his in-laws, Joseph and Colleen Maccherone, sister- and brother-in-law, Michael Maccherone (Laura), Susan Norman (Corbit), and many nieces, (Great nieces and nephews) and one nephew Gabriel B Hendrickson.
He was preceded in death by his loving father, George Barry Hendrickson Senior, grandfather Edward "Pop" Hickman, and grandmother Mary I Maccherone, who welcomed him home with open arms.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main St., North East, MD. A funeral service will follow on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 1 PM at the funeral home.Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Elkton, Maryland.
