Freda J. (Stilwell) Carpenter
Born in Barnsley, PA, on February 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence T. and the late Alice O. (Pierce) Stilwell. She was the wife of the late James White and the late Dennis Carpenter.
Freda was a cook at local area restaurants for many years. After she retired, she still loved to cook and share what she made with her family and friends.
She was a member of VFW Post 6027 - Ladies Aux., North East, MD and the American Legion Mason Dixon Post 194 - Ladies Aux., Rising Sun, MD.
Survivors include her children: Gloria J. Smeltzer (Ellis Bittle) of Elkton, MD, Anita L. Mackey (John) of Rising Sun, MD and Charles L. White (Johanna) of Rising Sun, MD; 6 grandchildren: Stephanie McDilda (Bryan) of North East, MD, Keith Mackey (Karey) of Rising Sun, Jeanette Ewing (Albert) of Elkton, Bobbie Jo Blake of North East, Joey White of VA and Carissa White of Rising Sun; and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Interment will follow services in Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ware Presbyterian Home, in care of the funeral home.
