Franklin D. Holmes, Iii

Franklin D. Holmes, III, 21 of Elkton, MD, died suddenly Thursday, January 15, 2009. Born in Elkton, on October 17, 1987, he was the son of Franklin D. Holmes, Jr. and Wyvonne Holmes of Elkton, MD. In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughter: Lilliana Rose Holmes at home; his fiancé Melissa Moody of Elkton, MD; his brothers, Michael C. Holmes, Nicholas R. Holmes, his sister Alicia M. Huber and his brother-in-law Michael Huber all of Elkton, MD; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Helen Loney of Townsend, DE; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Gooslin of Gray, TN. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Franklin D. Holmes, Sr. and his maternal grandfather, Delman Gooslin. He was an award winning wrestler. He enjoyed cars, fishing and camping. He valued spending time with family and friends, especially enjoying his daughter, Lilly. He had the biggest heart, always putting everyone else first and admired his parents. Even when mad, he was happy, the biggest jokester, turned everything into a joke. Always made everyone laugh, always put his heart into everything he did, and he always tried very hard. He was employed at W.L. Gore's New Garden Plant, Landenberg, PA in the Shipping and Receiving Department. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901, where family and friends may visit Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rev. Ed Lasko will officiate. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to: The Lilliana Rose Holmes Education Fund, c/o the funeral home.
