Frank B. 'Ben' Payne

Frank B. 'Ben' Payne, 74 of Charlestown, MD, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at Elkton Care and Rehab, Elkton, MD. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Greenbank, MD on February 16, 1937 the son of the late Stanford and the late Anna Elizabeth Brown Payne. He retired after 31 years of service on the Assembly Line for GM. He also worked as a commercial fisherman. Ben was very accomplished at painting, drawing and carving decoys. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, anything to do with the water or nature and loved animals. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years: Barbara O. Payne; one daughter: Lisa DiMaio, one son: Steven Douglas Payne and a granddaughter, Shannon Leigh DiMaio all of Newark, DE; two sisters: Patricia 'Betty' Elizabeth Miller of Cameron, NY, Dorothy A. Reier of Clarabelle, FL and one brother: Stanford I. Payne, Jr. of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Calvin Woodring will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
