Evelyn Venessa (Whitacre) Nines

Evelyn Venessa Nines, 97 of Elkton, MD, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at home.

Born in Cumberland, MD, on December 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Ross and   Pearl (White) Whitacre.  She was the wife of the late John Nines.

Mrs. Nines retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where she worked for many years as a seamstress.

A lifetime member of Aberdeen VFW Post 17 Ladies Aux., Mrs. Nines, along with her husband were also the founders of VFW Post 10146 Darlington/Dublin.

Survivors include her daughter: Betty Shade of Elkton, MD; one sister: Kathleen Wagoner of Ridgely, WV; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Ray F. Graham will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until service.

Interment will follow in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
