Ethel Griffith Sprenkle Neely

Ethel Griffith Sprenkle Neely, 92 of Kennett Square, PA, and formerly of North East, MD and Chadds Ford, PA, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 in the Linden Hall Nursing Home, Kennett Square, PA. Born in Day Brook, NC, on July 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late David and the late Naomi Cooper Griffith. She worked as a Cafeteria Supervisor at North East Elementary and also had worked at the North East News Shop. Survivors include two daughters: Naomi Sprenkle Gorrell of Quarryville, PA, Audrey Sprenkle Edwards of Rising Sun, MD and one son: David Sprenkle of Stoddard, NH; one sister: Roberta Jacobs of Folsom, PA; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands: Everett Sprenkle in 1954 and William Neely in 1995. Friends may call Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 2:30 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may visit starting at 1:30 PM. Rev. George Leathrum will officiate. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Friends Home, in care of the funeral home.
