Ernest Harris, Jr.

Ernest Harris, Jr., 60 of North East, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. Born in Baltimore, MD, on June 7, 1951, he was the son of the late Ernest Harris, Sr. and the late Bertha Johnson Harris. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. Ernest retired from Perry Point VA Medical Center where he worked in Environmental Services. He enjoyed nice clothing and shoes. He was a very family oriented man and greatly loved life. Survivors include his companion: Patricia Perry and his stepchildren: Timothy Perry, Jr., Desedee Perry and Lucas Perry all of North East, MD; his children: Chauncey Harris and Tangie Harris both of Baltimore, MD; two sisters: Patricia Gilliam and her husband Robert of Baltimore, MD and Carolyn McKinny of NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Howell Funeral Home, 4600 Liberty Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD and again on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to services at Abundant Life Worship Center, 250 Booth Street, Elkton, MD. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Otis Williams will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Abundant Life Worship Center, 250 Booth Street, Elkton, MD. Interment with full military honors will be Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:45 AM in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD.
