Erma Doris (Elbon) Deputy

Erma Doris Deputy, 93 of Newark, DE, formerly of North East, MD, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Born in Lantz, WV, on November 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Leo Verne Elbon and Lottie Jane (Moreland) Elbon.  She was the wife of the late Richard Deputy who preceded her in death in 1999.

Prior to her retirement, Erma worked as a beautician.  She loved feeding the birds and took great joy in watching them visit the feeder outside her window.

She is survived her son & his wife: Verne & Diane Orndorff of The Villages, FL; her niece and her husband: Janet Carney-Ward & Charlie of Richmond, VA; daughter-in-law: Sharon Orndorff of Middletown, DE; grandchildren and their spouses: Adam & Elizabeth Orndorff of Townsend, DE, Erin & Joshua Walther of Wilmington, DE, Ryan Orndorff of Newark, DE; step-grandchildren and their spouses: Garrett & Shelly Preisch of Elkton, MD, Kirsten & Chris Costa of Lucile, ID; and great grandchildren: Amelia, Olivia, Ian, Evelyn Orndorff of Townsend, DE,  Wyatt, Ethan, Scarlett Walther of Wilmington, DE, Tylor Helfrich of Dover, DE, Aiden, Abigail Orndorff of Newark , DE; and step-great grandchildren: Katie Preisch of Elkton, MD and Konnor Costa of Lucile, ID.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
