Emory Joseph Dixon

Emory Joseph Dixon, 80 of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Earlville, MD, on June 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Charles and Susie Camp Dixon. Mr. Dixon was the beloved husband of 20 years of Cheryl Dixon of Elkton, MD. He was a machine shop supervisor for Thiokol retiring after 32 years of service. He was a past member of the Delaware National Guard and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. In addition to his loving wife survivors include: his 2 sons: Robert Staines and wife Sharon and Wayde Dixon and wife Dawn all of North East, MD; his special beloved nephew: Gary Peterson and wife Donna of Elkton, MD his stepchildren: Michael Johnson and wife Lisa of Middletown, DE and Beth Ayers and fiancée' Chris of Elkton, MD; his sister: Grace Peterson of Elkton, MD; 10 grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Dixon and a sister, Susan DuBois. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Mary Browne will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday evening, February 8, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
