Emma L. Christensen

Emma L. Christensen, age 87 of Elkton, MD, died Friday, August 1, 2003 at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Theodore, MD on May 20, 1916, a daughter of the late, Lewis B., Sr. and Martha E. Harris Brown. She was a lifelong resident of Cecil County, MD. Mrs. Christensen retired in 1978 after 32 years of service from the Hatem Bridge as a toll Sargent. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Rising Sun, MD. She enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling and collecting license plates with her husband. Mrs. Christensen was the wife of the late, Harry A. Christensen, Sr., who died in 1979. She is survived by her children, Mary Savage, Port Deposit, MD, Harry A. "Sonny" Christensen, Jr., North East, MD, and Jeanne Pierce, Elkton, MD, sisters, Minnie Mowbray Rising Sun, MD, Ella Perkins, North East, MD, and Bertha Church, PA, ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2003 at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at the funeral home. Rev. Mark Maxwell of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Ebenezer Church Road, Rising Sun, MD will officiate.
