Eloise Catherine Tiller

Eloise Catherine Fitts Tiller, 80 of North East, MD, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at home. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elk Neck, on July 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and the late Gladys Hyland Fitts. Mrs. Tiller was the beloved wife of Laws W. Tiller, North East, MD for 60 years. A toll collector, she retired from the Hatem Bridge, and also worked as a clerk at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center. Mrs. Tiller was a member of Reed's AUMP Church, North East, MD. She enjoyed puzzles, collecting elephants and traveling, to casinos and especially to the ocean. In addition to her loving husband, survivors include: her children, Gregory L. Fitts of Elkton, MD; Victoria Williams of Elkton, MD; and Vermetta R. Brown of Bear, DE; her sisters: Doris Goode Orlando of North East, MD, Gloria White and Shirley Fitts both of Elkton, MD; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter: Vanessa A. Hayes; and 4 siblings: Margaret Watson, Elaine Hughes, Lorraine Fitts and Clarence Fitts, Jr. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD. Interment will follow in Bohemia Manor Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
