Elmer B. Blankenship, 80 of Elkton, MD, died Friday, March 30, 2007 in the SunBridge Nursing Home, Elkton, MD. Born in Lewisburg, WV, on July 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Harlen and the late Florence Shaver Blankenship. He was the husband of the late Lula A. Blankenship who died Dec. 29, 2003. He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as a Security Guard. Survivors include: a son Jerry Blankenship of Elkton, MD; a stepdaughter, Madaline Holliday of North East, MD; two sisters: Reva Blankenship, Imogene Nunley and two brothers: Edwin Blankenship and Paul Blankenship all of Elkton, MD. Also 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Blankenship was also predeceased by a stepson, Billy Jo Campbell, a brother, Randolph Blankenship, and two sisters, Evalee Stacey and Gertrude Paxton. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.
