Ella Louise Patchell, 86 of Charlestown, MD, died Thursday, August 14, 2008 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Charlestown, MD, on June 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George Clifton and the late Phoebe Walker Gibson. Mrs. Patchell was the wife of the late Harold "Pink" Patchell, Sr. whom she married on Nov. 16th, 1941. She was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Patchell's Exxon in North East, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She graduated from Marinella Beauty School in Philadelphia, PA and then worked as a hairdresser in Havre de Grace, MD. Mrs. Patchell was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Charlestown, MD, where she was the financial secretary for 13 years. Survivors include: her children: George C. Patchell and his wife Janet of North East, MD, Norman Patchell and his wife Lana of North East, MD, Terry Lee Hash of Charlestown, MD, Lisa Duncan and her companion Mike Lively of Felton, DE and LuAnn Hall and her fiancé Dave Brooks of Quarryville, PA ; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Patchell of North East, MD; a sister: Virginia LeBrun of North East, MD; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son: Harold E. Patchell, Jr. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM at St. John's United Methodist Church, 240 Market Street, Charlestown, MD, with visitation for family and friends starting at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to: St. John's United Methodist Church, Att: Memorial Contributions, P.O.
