Ella M. (Morris) Jourdan

Ella M. Jourdan, 98 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017.

Born in Dublin, MD, on January 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Reba (Kelly) Morris.  She was the wife of the late Nelson Roby Jourdan who passed January 22, 2002.

Mrs. Jourdan retired from the Cecil County Board of Education.  She had worked as a teacher’s aide at Bay View Elementary School for over 14 years.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Zion, MD.

Survivors include her 6 children:  Kenneth A. Jourdan of Newark, DE, David Nelson Jourdan of Rising Sun, MD, Ralph Edward Jourdan, Suzanne Benjamin, James Howard Jourdan and Russell Morris Jourdan all of North East, MD: 8 grandchildren;  13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Phillip Morris and Robert J. Morris, Sr.; and a daughter-in-law: Donna S. Jourdan.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Ken Hall and Rev. Hal Owens will be held Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11:00 am at Zion United Methodist Church, 94 Old Zion Road, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow services in Dublin Southern Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
