Eleanor A. Jenkins, 86 of Charlestown, MD, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 in the Life Care Hospitals of Chester County, West Chester, PA. Born in Binghamton, NY, on September 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and the late Ada Scott Ayers. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Jenkins who passed away September 4, 2006. Survivors include two daughters: Nancy Lorbach of West Chester, PA, Mary Stancyk of Carmichael, CA; two sons: Joseph A. Chip Rider of Downingtown, PA, Stephen Rider of Palm Springs, CA; two stepsons, Edwin D. Jenkins of Oberlin, PA and James S. Jenkins of Pottstown, PA; a brother, Gerald Ayers of Texas; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jenkins was also predeceased by her first husband, Joseph A. Rider who died in 1962 and a stepson, T. Glyn Jenkins. She was a member and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #6027 of North East, MD; a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, North East, MD; and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pomeroy Volunteer Fire Dept., Pomeroy, PA. Mrs. Jenkins volunteered at the Perry Point V.A. Medical Center, calling Bingo. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude
