Sanford, NC – Eleanor Fulton King Harvey, 93, of Sanford died March 31, 2012 at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Pinehurst, NC. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 15, 1919 a daughter of the late Samuel Alexander King and Eleanor Scouller King. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia. Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her husband George Aldridge Harvey of North East, MD; her brother Russell Scouller King of Yeadon, PA and her daughter Mary Elizabeth Conklin of New Britain, PA. She is survived by her daughter Barbara E. Harvey of Phoenix, AZ; son George S. Harvey and his wife Rebekah of Sanford, NC; a nephew Henry E. Harvey, Jr. of North East, MD; five grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harvey was a long time resident of North East, MD. She was very active in the North East United Methodist Church as well as several civic organizations. Health reasons prompted her move to Sanford in the spring of 1998. A private burial for the family will be held on Saturday April 14, 2012. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the North East United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North East United Methodist Church, 308 S. Main Street, North East, Maryland 21901 or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their care and companionship.
