Edward Joseph Kowalski, Jr., 66 of Zion, MD, near North East, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in the Christiana Hospital, Christiana, DE. Edward was born in Bayonne, NJ, on February 4, 1941 as the only son of the late Edward J. Kowalski, Sr. and the late Sophie Kowalski. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marycelene Dubil Kowalski in 1997. Mr. Kowalski graduated from Salesianum High School in Wilmington, DE and went on to attend the University of Delaware and Cecil Community College. Edward was also a devoted member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church. He retired from the Department of Labor for the State of Delaware after many years of loyal service as a computer programmer. Edward loved and was exceptionally gifted in mathematics, and was endowed with an equally sharp wit that was enjoyed by all who knew him. He also greatly enjoyed horse racing, coin collecting and classical music. Survivors include his loving daughter Linda M. Kowalski of North East, MD; two beloved sisters: Teresa Zwierchowski of Forked River, NJ; Joanne Norwillo of Palm Bay, FL and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening, November 9th, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, 928 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD, with interment to follow in All Saint's Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
