Edna Dare (Mays) Reeves

Edna Dare Reeves, 89 of Darlington, MD, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in the University of MD, Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD.

Born in Flat Ridge, VA, on July 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Carrie (Caldwell) Mays.  She was the wife of the late Donald Lee Reeves who passed May 16, 1996.

Edna retired from PNC Bank, working as a Vice President and Branch Manager.

She was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Darlington, MD, Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, where she was involved as an EMS Responder and worked in the Administrative Section.  She also volunteered at Harford Memorial Hospital.  In her younger years, she was a member of the Dublinaires Majorette and Drum Corp.

Survivors include her children: Artie Reeves (Joyce) of Darlington, MD and Margaret Ann Knaub (Aaron) of Elkton, MD; one sister: Jean Reeves of Abingdon, MD; six grandchildren: Kaitlan Phillips, Aurielle Sauers, Samantha Knaub Huesman, McKenzie Knaub, Dresden Knaub, Landon Knaub; and two great grandsons: Tyler and Nathan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was also preceded by brother: Robert Mays; sister: Ruby Page; brother: Frank Mays; brother: Claude Mays; and sister: Joanne Sexton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 3 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm at Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, 2600 Castleton Road, Darlington, MD. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11 am at the fire hall.

Interment will follow services next to her beloved husband in Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Edna either to Darlington Volunteer Fire Company or Free Haven Community Initiative , both in care of Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD  21901.
