Earl Hammons, 86 of Perryville, MD, died Monday, June 18, 2007 in the Laurelwood Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elkton, MD. Born in Newcomb, TN, on March 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Charles H. and the late Julie Richmond Hammons. Mr. Hammons was the husband of the late Stella I. Hammons who died on May 30, 2007. He served during World War II in the Coast Guard as a Boatswain Mate. He retired in 1983 from Armco Steel where he worked as a Set-Up Man. He was an avid bowler. Mr. Hammons was a Lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #6027, North East, MD; a member of American Legion Post #15, Elkton, MD; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Har-Ce Forest #142, Perryville, MD; AF & AM Lodge 229 Mt. Nebo, Perry Hall, MD; a social member of the North East Volunteer Fire Co., North East, MD; North East Seniors and the Elkton Senior Bowling League. He is survived by: a son, George W. Hammons; a daughter, Sharon Hagen; a stepson, William Freeman; his sister Ruth Cassell; and a brother Rev. Buster Hammons. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Kincaid. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
