Dorothy D. Touchton

Dorothy D. Touchton, 95 of Rising Sun, MD, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD. Born in Harrisburg, PA, on January 5, 1914, she was the daughter of the late S. Clyde and the late Anna Dunlap Drennen. She was the wife of the late Howard F. Touchton who died in 1982. Mrs. Touchton was a Personnel Clerk, retiring from Bainbridge NTC. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Zion, MD. She will be remembered by her family as Great Dot, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include: one daughter: Sandra T. Shorter and her husband Gene of Rising Sun, MD; three grandchildren: Kevin Shorter and his wife Sherry of Stewartstown, PA; Kimberly Eubanks and her husband Sean of New Market, MD; and Keith Shorter and his wife Heidi of Mt. Airy, MD; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Zion United Methodist Church, 94 Old Zion Road, North East, MD. Rev. Harold Owens will officiate. Interment will follow in Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent in memory of Mrs. Touchton to the charity of your choice.
