Dorothy Marie Sexton

Dorothy Marie Sexton of Charlestown, MD went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 22, 2006. Born in North East, MD on November 4, 1931 to the late William and Beatrice Gorrell Carter. Most of her life was spent in the North East and Charlestown area. She was a faithful member of Charlestown Missionary Baptist Church. A loving and gracious lady, she lived a life of unwavering faith and love of the Lord that gained the respect and admiration of many. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Beatrice Gorrell Carter, her husband Rev. J. Fred Sexton, her youngest daughter, Mary Lois Sexton, and a great-granddaughter, Allison Kate Gilbert. Survivors include, a son, Joseph F. Sexton, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Charlestown, MD, A daughter Bonnie Arnold and her husband Chuck of North East, MD, a son Rev. David Sexton and his wife Sharon of Red Oak, IA, a daughter Deborah and her husband Rev. Dennis Gilbert of Charlestown, MD. Eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. A brother, William Carter of North East, MD and a sister, June Ann Goad and her husband Frank of McCook, NE. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 26, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Charlestown Missionary Baptist Church, 1168 West Old Philadelphia Road, Charlestown, MD where friends and family may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday evening, June 25, 2006.
