Dorothy Preston Adams

Dorothy Preston Adams, 86 of North East, MD, died suddenly Saturday, February 7, 2009 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Childs, MD, on April 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William and the late Mary Potts Preston. Survivors include four daughters: Carol Truitt of Elkton, MD, Jackie Watson of Rising Sun, MD, Teresa Warren of North East, MD, Beth Vaught of Elkton, MD and two sons: Charles A. Adams, Jr. of Pleasant Hill, MD, Duane S. Adams of North East, MD; two brothers: Albert Preston of Elkton, MD, James L. Preston of Elkton, MD; three sisters: Mary Lou Knox of Elkton, MD, Janet Pritt of Golts, MD, Linda Miller of Calvert, MD; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and her best friend, Carol Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Adams, daughter, M. Lee Gross, sister, Julia Dixon, and two brothers, Raymond and William Preston Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 12:00 NOON at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. James R. Moyers will officiate. Interment will follow in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Church of the Nazarene, c/o the funeral home.
