Doris D. (Demond) England

Doris D. England, age 83, of Zion, MD was called to her heavenly home to be with her Savior on Saturday, February 22nd.

A lifelong resident of Zion, Doris was born October 24, 1930 to Raymond and Grace (Bothwell) DeMond. She graduated from the Calvert Agricultural School and Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, DE.

Doris fulfilled secretarial responsibilities at Dupont, Wilmington, DE; Perry Point VA Medical Center; Farmers & Mechanics Insurance, Zion; and Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Calvert. Her life’s dedication was to her Lord and family as a dairy farmer’s wife, mother, homemaker, and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Bible Fellowship Baptist Church, Rising Sun, MD.

Doris as a gardener enjoyed her flowers and processed fruits and vegetables yearly, sharing with friends far and wide.

Doris is predeceased by her parents and 3 brothers, Frank, George, and Harold DeMond and a sister Marilyn Waddell. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, T. Howard England; children Thomas Jr. and wife, Vickey (Carroll), of West Grove, PA; Jeffrey and wife, Diane (Haga) of Rising Sun, MD; Amy (England) Edwards of Martinsburg, WV; and Nils and wife, Amy (Herwig) of Marysville, MD; grandchildren Tommy and Valerie England of Lancaster, PA; and Stephen England of Rising Sun, MD; sister Winifred Newnam of Galena, MD; and sisters in law, Diana DeMond of Elkton, MD and Jean (England) Heinel of Myrtle Beach, SC.

The family will hold a private interment service at Friends Cemetery, Calvert, MD. Sincere appreciation is expressed to all who provided care and comfort to Doris throughout her illness.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 3:00 p.m. at Bible Fellowship Baptist Church, 325 Bard Cameron Road, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Visitation by family and friends is welcomed both an hour before and after the service.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ honor to the Bible Fellowship Baptist Church.
