Donald Stephen Lockard

Donald Stephen Lockard, 86 of Elkton, MD, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Elkton, he was born on September 17, 1937, the son of the late Mae Vanders.  Donald served his country proudly in the MD National Guard.  Prior to his retirement, he worked as a meat cutter for Buckworth’s Market, Santonio’s and Food Lion.

He loved the outdoors and working with his hands, especially woodworking and tinkering on everything and anything, as well as working around his pond.  He loved the company of his dog, Lucky.

"Donnie" was most thankful for his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 65 years: Wilma J. Lockard; children: Dawn R. Corbett of North East, MD, Todd S. Lockard  (Stacy) of Elkton, MD, Perry M. Lockard (Irene) of Elkton, MD, Shannon D. Lockard (Lorrinda) of Fair Hill, MD; 5 sisters: Betty Vatter, Doris Hildebrant, Joyce Cochran, Shirley Baker (Kenny)  and Bonnie Ford (Henry); 4 grandchildren: Jeremy, Autumn, Austin, Rowen; and 6 great grandchildren. In addition, his sister-in-laws, Rebecca Minker (Mitchell), Roberta Jackson and Richard Knotts (Donna) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He also considered Donna Muncy, (Wilma's aid) as family.

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Amber Reyes, and three brothers, Phil, Jerry & Kenny.Lockard.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3:30 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 2:30 pm.
