Dolores P. Leath, 82 of Lancaster and Perryville, died Wednesday October 24, 2012. She was the only daughter of Phillip and Marguerite Pfrommer. She is survived by her daughter Caron Leath, wife of Jeffrey L. Gillespie, granddaughter Susanne Gillespie and great grandson, Nolan Robert Leath Gillespie.
She and her late husband, Robert F. Leath, owned and operated the Happy House Gift Shop in the Manor Shopping Center in Lancaster, for more thirty years. She also worked for the Lancaster Recreation Center as an after school teacher and storyteller. Dolores moved to Perryville in 2009 to be closer to her Maryland family. Dolores loved, and was deeply loved by her family and she was especially fond of her great grandson, Nolan.
Dolores was a lifelong member of St. Andrew United Church of Christ at Lime and New Streets in Lancaster, where she served as Sunday School teacher, deacon and elder. She loved her Church and her many friends there and as the Parish Visitor, Dolores visited members of St. Andrew’s congregation in hospitals and nursing homes for many years.
A memorial service celebrating Dolores’ life will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 PM at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Charlestown, Md. Donations, in lieu of flowers, made be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church and sent to P.O. Box 82, Charlestown, Md. 21914.
