Delbert Myrle Collins

Delbert Myrle Collins, 83 of North East, MD, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at Autumn Lake at Calvert Manor, Rising Sun, MD.

Born in Childs, MD on February 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Gladys Adele (Smith) and Kellis Byron Collins, Sr. He was the loving husband of the late, Barbara Marie (Wiggins) Collins who passed on January 31, 2011.

Delbert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He later became a self-employed carpenter and owner of Delbert Collins Construction.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, spending time with his family and “working”. He was also a member of Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church, Nottingham, PA.

Delbert is survived by his children: Kelley Travis (Mike), Jason Collins (Danielle) and Amy Collins (Tim) all of North East, MD; siblings: Rodney Collins of Charlestown, MD, Rebecca Burton of Charlestown, MD and Emily Vuotto (John) of Phoenixville, PA; grandchildren: Brittany, Cortney, Joe, Allyson, McKenzie, Lincoln, Ridgely, Tyler and Camden; and great grandchildren: Kylie, Peyton, Felix, Bailey, Otto, Finn, Elijah, Emma and Eli.

In addition to his parents and wife, Delbert was preceded in death by his siblings: Kellis Collins, Jr., Harold Butch Collins and Juanita Suppa.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church, 303 W. Christine Rd, Nottingham, PA with visitation beginning at 10:00am.

Interment will follow services in Nottingham Missionary Baptist Cemetery, Nottingham, PA.
