Dawn Marie (Fritts) Ragan

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dawn Ragan, who left us on March 31, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on August 24, 1963, Dawn was a cherished member of her community in Rising Sun, Maryland, and a beloved family member whose light will be deeply missed. Dawn was a dedicated Program Support Assistant at the Perry Point VA Medical Center, where she provided compassionate service to those in need. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her work; she found joy in crafting and celebrating holidays with her family, ensuring that every gathering was filled with love and laughter. Dawn was a devoted mother to her daughter, Megan Harris (Dave) of Perryville, MD, and her son, Corey Ragan (Ashley) of Elkton, MD. She was also a proud grandmother to her four beautiful grandchildren, Bradlee, Lucas, Austin, and Ava, who were the apple of her eye and brought her immense joy. Dawn is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy (Little) Fritts; her brothers, Jack Fritts, Jr. (Dana) and Joseph Fritts (Connie), all of Rising Sun, MD; and a host of extended family and friends who will remember her warm spirit and caring nature.

The family wishes to thank Dawn’s caregivers for all the love and care they gave her, Connie Fritts, Terri Palamaras, Wendy O’Rourke and Lisa McCartan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Norris Ragan on August 23, 2023; and her father, Jackie Lee Fritts, Sr. on November 2, 2022. A public viewing will be held at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD  on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, where family and friends can come together to celebrate Dawn's life and share fond memories. The funeral service will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will follow services in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD. Though Dawn is no longer with us, her loving spirit and the joy she brought to our lives will forever remain in our hearts. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her legacy.
