David A. Mackie

David A. "Casey" Mackie, 77 of Rising Sun, MD, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at home in Rising Sun, MD. A lifetime resident of Cecil County, he was born in Fair Hill, on February 20, 1934, the son of the late Henry M. Mackie, Sr. and the late Bernice S. Gray Mackie. Mr. Mackie was a lifelong farmer, being apart of the Mackie Brothers Greendale. He put farming and caring for the land ahead of everything else. Farming was his life. He was a member of the Cecil County Farm Museum. Survivors include his devoted wife of 56 years: Pauline A. Mackie; 3 sisters: Lois Inglisa and husband Dominic of Elkton, MD, Constance Godfrey of Red Lion, PA, Patricia Petersen and husband George of Newark, DE; 5 brothers: John and wife Mary Ann, Edgar and wife Mary Ann, William and wife Mary all of Elkton, MD, Ray and wife Betty of Smyrna, DE and Michael and wife Linda of Rising Sun, MD; a sister-in-law, Louise Mackie of Christiana, DE; brother-in-law, David Allsion of Elkton, MD; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers: Henry M. Jr. and James H. and sister: Nancy Allison. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ellen Baxter will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Rock Presbyterian Church, Rock Church Rd. & Rt. 273, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Sharps Cemetery, Fair Hill, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Cecil County Farm Museum, in care of Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901.
