David Nelson Jourdan, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware.

Born on November 27, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Nelson R. Jourdan and Ella Morris Jourdan.

David dedicated his career to the automotive industry and took great pride in owning and operating Dave's Auto Sales in Rising Sun for many years before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, honest character, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Through his business, he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of countless customers and neighbors.

Outside of work, David enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid softball player, had a lifelong passion for Corvettes and street rods, and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Sue Jourdan.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Coy (Matthew) of Rising Sun, Maryland; his son, Randal Paul Jourdan of Rising Sun, Maryland; his cherished grandchildren, Steven Jacob Coy and Adrienne Victoria Coy; his precious great-granddaughter, Ella Sue Coy; his brothers, Kenneth A. Jourdan of Newark, Delaware, James Howard Jourdan of Rising Sun, Maryland, and Russell Morris Jourdan of North East, Maryland; his sister, Suzanne Benjamin of North East, Maryland; as well as many extended family members, dear friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate David's life during a viewing on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland 21901.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Zion United Methodist Church, 239 England Creamery Rd. North East, Maryland, 21901, with Rev. Ken Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Sharps Cemetery in Fair Hill, Maryland.

David will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, unwavering devotion to his family, and the genuine friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His legacy of integrity, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and love.
