Cora Juanita Brown

Cora Juanita Brown departed this life on Monday, June 17, 2024 at home after a brief illness.  She was born on October 26, 1946 to the late Harry and Iola (Johnson) Brown.  She was the youngest of 15.

Cora attended George Washington Carver School in Elkton, MD.  She worked at Bata Show Company in Belcamp, MD.  The family moved to Wilmington, DE in August of 1983.  She worked at Elwyn Institute in Wilmington, DE.  She loved to watch the daytime stories, horror movies and Lifetime.  She loved doing word search puzzles and magazines.  She loved her Pepsi and Coke.

Cora loved visiting her family in MD.  Sunday dinners at her sister Tissy’s house and family going out to celebrate birthdays and holidays.

The family would always tease her about eating chicken.  She didn’t even want the chicken dish anywhere near her.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Iola Brown; brothers, Harry, Henry, Clyde (Sonny), Herman (Bubby), George, Joe and Raymond Brown; sisters, Emma Liggins, Dorothy Fews, Bettymae Brown, Barbara Thompson, Martha Johnson and Pauline Wanzer.

Cora leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Eugene, Bradford and Marcus Brown; daughter, Wanda Brown; sister, Sandra Perkins of Havre de Grace, MD; sister-in-law, Margo Brown of Somers Point, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Most importantly, she loved the kids and they loved her.

Service of Love will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, North East, MD.
