Colonel E. Adams, Jr., 69 of North East, MD, died Friday, December 1, 2006 at home. Born in Troutdale, VA, on April 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Colonel E. and the late Leona Rutherford Adams, Sr. Mr. Adams was the husband of R. Joyce Adams, North East, MD for 39 years. He enjoyed the Ravens, NASCAR and his dog Adam. He retired from Rogers Farm Supply after 33 years as a Clerk and Truck Driver. He also worked for the Cecil County Roads Dept. for 15 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by: four daughters: Wilma Ann Reedy and her husband Denny of Troutdale, VA, Shirley Hall and her husband Buddy of Perryville, MD, Lisa Long of Elkton, MD, Pam Smith of Zephyr, FL and one son: Mike Adams and his wife Jackie of Elkton, MD; three step-daughters: Kathy Dean and Greg Baker of Elkton, MD, Connie McGuirk and her husband Ronnie of Perryville, MD, Lorie Arrants and her husband Steve of North East, MD; and a step-son, Gary Dean and his wife Shirley of North East, MD. Also, three sisters: Wave Mathena of Marion, VA, Esther Cothin of Sudlersville, MD, Wilma Fisher of Marion, VA and two brothers: Allen Adams of Troutdale, VA and Cecil Adams of Independence, VA. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was predeceased by two Step-Sons: the late Gene Dean and the late Ricky Dean; and two brothers, the late Gayle Adams and the late Claude Adams. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call Monday, December 4, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate.
