Clarence Parker, Jr., 92 of North East, MD, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 in the Elkton Care and Rehab, Elkton, MD, where he was a resident for three years. Born in Selma, LA, on November 27, 1918, he was the son of the late Clarence Parker, Sr. and the late Pearl Wise Parker. Mr. Parker was the beloved husband of Vivian Angela Celani Parker of North East, MD. Mr. Parker served in the Navy for over 20 years, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He retired from the Cecil County Board of Education in 1981, where he worked in the maintenance department. In addition, he worked at Cecil College in their maintenance department. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Elkton, MD and V.F.W. Post 6027 of North East, MD. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: his daughter: Donna M. Zane of Rising Sun, MD; his son-in-law Timothy Zane of Rising Sun, MD; two sisters: Doris Gunn of Tallulah, LA, Leneada Holder of Newellton, LA; and three grandchildren: Amanda, Timothy and Parker. He was preceded in death by Dollie Wiggins sister, Saniford Parker brother, Ruby Foster sister, Emma Wiggins sister, A.G. Parker brother, Winfred Parker brother and Noreen Freeman sister. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held in Tuesday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will follow services in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
