Clarence Joseph Cornell

Clarence Joseph 'Joe' Cornell, 64 of North East, MD, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Union Hospital, Elkton, MD. Born in Elkton, MD, on September 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Susan Strivack Cornell. Mr. Cornell served his country admirably in the U.S. Army. He retired from Westvaco in Newark, DE after 28 years of service as a Plate Maker. He enjoyed watching the Ravens, NASCAR and the Orioles. He loved his cats. Survivors include his fiancé: Darell "Dee" Leary of North East, MD; 2 daughters: Stephanie Cornell and Dianna Cornell and her fiancé James Leary all of North East, MD; 2 stepdaughters: Dawn Langley of North East, MD and Denise Fuentes of Elkton, MD; his siblings: Charlie Cornell of Elkton, MD, Johnny Cornell of North East, MD, Albert Cornell of OK, Rosie Cornell of North East, MD, Debra Cornell of North East, MD, Gloria Richardson of Elkton, MD; 6 grandchildren: Eric Langley, Ashley Langley, William Tony Langley, Angela Fuentes, Carmen Fuentes and Dylan Leary; and 2 great-grandchildren, Madyson and Anthony Hutting. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hamilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, 928 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until service time.
