Charlotte Deborah (Wiggins) Trout left this world peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 11, 1948, in Elkton, MD, Charlotte dedicated her life to caring for others. In her early years, she achieved a nursing degree from Johns Hopkins University and then headed the Psychiatric Department at Johns Hopkins University, where she made a lasting impact on both her patients and colleagues through her compassion and dedication. Her later years were devoted to her family.
Charlotte was a beloved wife to Mahalley Eugene “Gene” Trout of Edgewood, MD; and a proud mother to her two sons, Barry Amrich Jr. of Crofton, MD and Matthew Eugene Trout of Edgewood, MD. She was also the cherished sister of Lawrence D. Wiggins, Jr. of Rising Sun, MD, Stephen D. Wiggins of North East, MD, Mary Diane Wiggins of Herndon, VA, and Christine D. Auslander, of Herndon, VA. Throughout her later life, Charlotte found joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures; whether it was bowling with friends, outings with the Willoughby Girls, solving puzzles, playing cards with family, or crocheting beautiful gifts for her loved ones, her laughter and warmth touched the lives of many.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence D. Wiggins, Sr. and Mary (Crothers) Wiggins; and her brother, Mark Daniel Wiggins.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Charlotte’s life during a public viewing at Crouch Funeral Home P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at Zion United Methodist Church, 232 England Creamery Road, North East, MD on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a public viewing preceding the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following the service, Charlotte will be laid to rest at Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
Charlotte’s kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
