Charlotte Oscar Barrick, 85 of Damascus, MD, formerly of Glen Farms in Elkton and North East, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at home. Born in Camden, NJ, on December 17, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and the late Beulah Gates Robinson. Charlotte was the wife of the late George L. Barrick, former Superintendent of Cecil County Public Schools, who died on Sept. 3, 1988. She taught high school in Emmittsburg, MD after graduating from Hood College in Frederick, MD. Charlotte was lovingly know as "Mrs. B" by her many friends and associates. She was a lifelong equestrian enthusiast and animal activist, being very involved in showing, training and eventing Thoroughbred horses. She was a member of Glade United Church of Christ, Walkersville, MD and Newark Baptist Church, Elkton, MD. Survivors include her children: Susan R. Taylor of Damascus, MD; Bruce Barrick of Rising Sun, MD, Kenneth R. Barrick of North East, MD; four grandchildren: Christopher Barrick of Baltimore, MD; Kristen Barrick of Rising Sun, MD; Ryan Barrick of Rising Sun, MD; Jeffrey Taylor of Damascus, MD; and two great-grandchildren: Zoe and Gavin. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by an Aunt and Uncle: Alice and Joseph Bradway of Wildwood, NJ with whom she lived subsequent to the early death of both of her parents. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Rev.
