Charles L. Williams, Jr.

Charles L. "June Bug" Williams, Jr. 84 of North East, MD, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at Elkton Care and Rehab, Elkton, MD. Born in North East, on May 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles L. Williams, Sr. and the late Mary Life Williams Atkinson. Mr. Williams was the beloved husband of 64 years of Margaret C. Williams of North East, MD. Mr. Williams served during World War II in the Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for his valor. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground after 25 years of service as a welder. He also worked for Maryland Materials, North East, MD and was self employed. He enjoyed bingo, playing the lottery, card games, go carts, woodworking and toy race cars. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his children: Rosemary W. Gatchell and her husband Roger of North East, MD, Nancy J. Linkous and her husband Steven of Elkton, MD, Jean Marie Miller and her husband Frank of North East, MD; Grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband Jeremy, Jonathan, Steve and his wife Melissa, Chris and his wife Tina, Norman and Sam; Great grandchildren: Chloe, Emma, Timmy, Andrew, Megan, Alyssa and Ryan; his niece and caregiver, Charlotte Mann of North East, MD; and stepbrothers: Eugene E. Atkinson, Sr. and Elisha A. Atkinson, III. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 11:00 AM.
